Maglite had a good idea in coming up with an upgrade, but it did not perform well enough.

Sure, it makes the maglite brighter, but it does not correct the dark rings or dark holes. This is more of a problem with the flashlight's reflector, but I still expected the upgrade to fix the problem.

The light it emits has a purple tint to it. It is rated at 3 watts, but when I compare it to other 3watt LEDs I own, it seems a lot dimmer.

the LEd replacement bulb is great, very powerful. I got three more for my other mag lite flashlights.

While these upgrade bulbs are not cheap, they are worth their weight in gold. I purchased 4 for my family's old maglites. I am not disappointed (quite the opposite) and the change out only took a couple of minutes. Also, it's much cheaper than buying a new flashlight and extends battery life by a lot!

I highly recommend these bulbs. You will not regret it.

A far superior, but expensive upgrade. The incandecent beam is able to focus better than the LED, however all things considered, you will NOT be disappointed by this product.

The additional battery life is a definite plus and will surely help the LED pay for itself over time.

I added this to a 2C mag lite. It made it much brighter without the annoying dark spot in the middle that I got with Nite Ezes LED upgrade.
