Good Value vs. Price
I purchased this travel kit to keep in the back of my SUV so that I am never without a pole and some rudimentary tackle. I've used it a couple of times. I don't really have any issues with the kit. The reel is not quite as smooth as some other spinning reels I have that are somewhere around the same price. Overall, I like this product and I am glad I own it.

Mostlyly pleased with this unit.
I bought this unit to replace a unit I've had for over 20 years and it is a very usuable unit. My only complaint is the bail is sometimes a little sticky when you flip it after a cast, but this seems to be getting better with use. The case is great and plenty of space for lures and tackle.

A good amount of quality and convenience for the price
I've used this rod 2-3 times a week for the past three months and am, for the most part, satisfied with the purchase. The rod/reel combo is of good quality and there's room enough in the case for a basic set of tackle. The case fits very nicely on a mountain bike tail rack and has proven to be very durable.

Now the reel is not nearly as smooth as my $120 Shimano and the rod tip will occasionally come loose on a very energetic cast. Still, the action is much better than a typical telescopic travel rod and the price is definitely right. The trout seem to like it too.

great gift
i bought this item as agift for my husband. he seemed to like it. it fits together and takes apart very well. i like the size as it can fit in carryon or checked luggage. and this is the only reel and rod set i found with a soft zippered case. very nice

Nice setup for travel
This is a good, compact unit for travel and camping. The rod assembles easily and seems to be of good quality. It is stored in sections, not telescoping. The reel was a little difficult to set up and adjust, but worked well when everything was assembled. The case is nice quality, but not lightweight ripstop - a little bulky and heavy for serious backpacking.
