Satisfaction
I was satisfied with my purchase and I like the components that make up the Fly fishing as a starting package equals satisfaction 2010-06-04

Excellent Value
I am experienced at fly fishing, yet I am also a college student on a low budget. I purchased the Wild Water Complete Starter Package because it appeared to be a good deal. Upon receiving the package, I was very impressed. Although it is without a doubt an entry level kit, it is a top-of-the-line one at that. For a four piece entry level rod, it has an excellent feel and action. The reel is large arbor with a drag adjustment which is rare for other kits from competitors such as scientific anglers or orvis. The case is great and convenient. Any person who is familiar with fly fishing, or has the patience to learn how to fly fish will love this package. It is of unparalleled value for such a modest price. On that note, the only drawback is the line, which does not include a built in loop connector (but for a starter kit that is expected). 2010-06-02

Just Add Water
"I have been teaching fly fishing for many years and have always been asked "what is a good starter set for beginners?". I have always had reservations about starter sets, as most are junk. I had some experience with Wild Water so I gave these a try. They are in my opinion the best starter sets I have used. Several of my students have purchased them either as a 1st rod, or as a replacement for another manufacturers starter set and all have been very pleased. They should have the term "just add water" with them as they are complete. Anyone starting the sport or wanting an affordable set for a family member should grab this." 2010-06-02

Good beginners setup
Wild Water is awesome! I needed my gear shipped ASAP as I waited until the last minute to order. I emailed company and it showed up next day!
My bother in law is an avid fly fisherman and his evaluation of the gear was good.
Good job Wild Water ! Maybe I'll make it out that way someday....

Rod Snapped - worth replacing for $35 ?
Overall, there is a lot of value here for a starter set. Because of that I will say that hopefully my experience is not typical. The rod completely snapped after relativley minimal use. The poor warranty - ($35 to repair or replace) makes it a tough call on whether it is worth sending back. 2010-05-23
