Great for kids
I purchased two of these rocketrods for my two youngest. I didn't expect much, or expect them to work very well, but I was pleasantly surprised! They were very easy to use, even for my five year old. For once, I was able to sit back and enjoy the view and not spend hours respooling fishing line, pulling hooks out of trees/clothes/passersby! Very, very nice! Especially used with a really good fish repelent, oh, I mean bait!
Buy one. You won't be sorry!

A big hit
I purchased this for my great nephew as a birthday gift. He had seen it on TV and requested it. It was big hit at the birthday party and he has used it once and had a great time. He is looking forward to this summer and getting a lot more great use out of the Fogo Rocket Rod. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I am fly fisherman and I guess I am snobbish when it comes to fishing equipment. However, my wife who also fly fishes said she would love to have one, so who knows. 2007-05-06

Rocket fishing rod........................
I gave this 1 star because they don't allow 0. this thing is junk. only shoots 15 to 20 ft. the reel is very weak. me and my 4 year old used it for 2 hours and then it broke. the reel quit reeling. the bobber is too hard to get back in the shaft. whoever invented this should give money back. Please do not buy this for your kids. 2007-05-06

crap rod instead of rocket
i bought 2 of these and my kids love them but there to hard for them to use, they dont shoot 30 feet they are luck to go 15 feet.they are yet to get a fish on them, the bobber floats way to low in my opinion it scares the fish.they dont work as easy as they show it to!my kids are 5 & 7!i wish i could resale them for half the price so dont waste your money like i did! 2007-05-06

Great product, little tricky
My six year old just received this for his birthday and he loves it. This product is not necessarily marketed for kids though. There is a safety on it that has to be pressed when launching it, so it does require a little bit of coordination. It is a little difficult for him to do, but not as hard as casting a regular rod. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone younger than my son though, unless he or she was highly coordinated. Still a great product overall! 2007-03-29
